Marisa Wayne Announced as Opening Speaker at Women of Influence 2019
Tuesday, January 08, 2019
Join more than 500 expected attendees at the Greater Irvine Chamber’s sixth annual Women of Influence event on Friday, March 8 where they will hear from opening speaker Marisa Wayne, fitness entrepreneur and co-founder of boutique fitness studio, GritCycle.
Wayne drew inspiration from her father, beloved legendary actor John Wayne, for his role in the 1969 movie True Grit, when creating GritCycle.
The indoor cycling classes take place in the “Saddle Room” and riders are inspired by the definition of “grit” strategically placed throughout the studios as, “passion and perseverance to achieve one’s goals.” With three studios in Orange County and their first Los Angeles County studio in Long Beach, GritCycle has risen to become a fitness brand to watch.
As a founding member of the John Wayne Cancer Foundation, Marisa Wayne has inspired GritCycle, its staff, and riders to “saddle up” philanthropically. As a community, GritCycle has raised 1.2 million dollars to beat cancer. This money is raised during their annual Gritty Up auction.
This year’s Women of Influence event is set for Friday, March 8, 2019, 11:30 a.m. – 2:15 p.m., at the Marriott Irvine, 18000 Von Karman Ave.
Each year, the program draws hundreds of attendees and features keynotes delivered by prominent professional women who share details of their journeys as they find their way through challenges and discovery to achieve success.
Tickets for the 2019 Women of Influence luncheon event are $90 for Greater Irvine Chamber members, and $115 for visitors. Sponsorships and tables are also available for purchase.
