Greater Irvine Chamber Earns Top Communications Award from Western Association of Chamber Executives

The Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce was awarded first place in overall Chamber Communications Programs for the entire Western United States, the highest honor of Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.) in that category. The award was formally presented to members of the Chamber staff at the W.A.C.E. annual conference, held this year in Henderson, Nevada, Feb. 7-9.

“We have put a great deal of emphasis on our strategic communications efforts this year, communicating the great work of our organization. As a testament to our effectiveness in raising our profile, the Greater Irvine Chamber has been honored with a major award from the Western Association of Chamber Executives,” said Chamber president and CEO Bryan Starr. “I am incredibly proud of our team of professional staff and our dedicated Board leadership that has helped us accelerate our brand.”

The Greater Irvine Chamber was also awarded Special Merit for its digital newsletter and Outstanding Chamber Program for its Career Edge workforce development program. Pepper Russell, executive assistant, Economic Development & Tourism, who provides administration support for Career Edge, accepted the award.

During the conference, Jessica Welch, senior director of Operations, Greater Irvine Chamber, was an awards presenter and a leader of the workshop, “Events & Programs – Getting a New and Fresh CLUE.” She was also recognized for reaching a 10-year milestone in the Chamber industry.

Whit Peterson, director of Government Affairs, led a workshop, “Be a Mastermind with these 25 Tips for Successful Advocacy.”

Danielle Spellman, membership services manager for the Chamber, has graduated from W.A.C.E. Academy, a three-year program, and was recognized for the achievement during the conference.
