Highlighting Orange County’s position as a hub for international trade, attendees were welcomed to the Fifth Annual Orange County World Trade Week Breakfast & Forum



Joining more than 550 attendees at the Greater Irvine Chamber’s fifth annual Orange County World Trade Week (OCWTW) Breakfast and Forum , was an impressive list of International-American chambers, business associations, public sector and private trade organizations, Consulate Generals from across Orange and Los Angeles counties, and members of business community to exchange ideas and learn from experts in international trade and exporting.

Keynote Speaker: Steve Wagner, Global Managing Director, Experian Decision Analytics

Experian Decision Analytics Global Managing Director Steve Wagner delivered a keynote on the topic of cybersecurity in a global landscape. Wagner discussed solutions and tools to better manage fraud as it relates to international transactions, and safeguard data against the constant and evolving threat posed by increasingly sophisticated cyber criminals.

Wagner was appointed global managing director of Experian Decision Analytics in 2018 and serves as the global business leader for Experian’s analytics, fraud, identity, and decision software businesses. He also serves on the Global Operating Committee of Experian, PLC and as chairman of the Experian social innovation fund, focused on improving the lives of consumers in their markets globally by investing in socially innovative Experian products.

Richard Swanson, director, Pacific South Network, U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Department of Commerce, discussed California’s role in the U.S. export supply chain, and which industries are slated to for lucrative export opportunities.

During a perennial favorite of the event’s program, the Exporter Success Story Panel, leading Orange County exporters offered insights into the challenges and opportunities for business expansion through exporting. Moderated by Greater Irvine Chamber Executive Vice President Linda DiMario, panelists included Harvinder Mudahar, international business manager, Technologent; Jessica Kleinert, international marketing manager, Taco Bell; and Michael Delaney, chief development officer, Worldwide Environmental Products, Inc.

Exporter of the Year: Diamon-Fusion International

Diamon-Fusion International was named the 2019 Exporter of the Year for its successful export strategies. Diamon-Fusion International has manufactured and distributed low-maintenance protective coatings, application machinery, and restoration products for the residential, commercial, and automotive markets since 1997. Currently, patents and patents-pending are held worldwide, and Diamond-Fusion International’s global sales and distribution networks span more than 20 countries around the globe.

Local Leaders in International Development

Lynn Stewart of California State University Fullerton, Irvine Campus, Extension and International Programs was presented with the 2019 Partner of the Year Awards for championing the international initiatives of the Chamber and lending her time and expertise to growing Irvine foreign direct investment.

Michael Seres, Founder and CEO of 11 Health and Technologies was presented with the inaugural Global Leadership Award for assisting U.K. lifescience companies expanding to Irvine/Orange County. Seres was the first Irvine Ready partner to open his offices as a staging area for companies easing their transition into the region.
